James Smedley is the Managing Member of Sigma Law Group LLC. He is a registered USPTO Patent Attorney and Canadian Patent Agent with nearly 20 years of practice at top-tier BigLaw firms including Fox Rothschild, Lowenstein Sandler, Ellenoff Grossman & Schole, and McCarter & English. James has been recognized as a NY Metro Super Lawyer from 2020-2024.

James earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and his B.S. in Computer Science from Rutgers University. His technical background and legal expertise allow him to handle sophisticated patent prosecution, IP licensing, and corporate transactions for technology companies, startups, and creative enterprises.

Kelly Smedley serves as Chief Financial Officer of Sigma Law Group LLC. She brings extensive financial analysis experience from her work at Lockheed Martin and L3Harris. Kelly earned her M.B.A. in Finance and her B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University.
